2507 is a ferritic-austenitic stainless steel that combines many of the most beneficial properties of ferritic and austenitic steels. Due to the high chromium and molybdenum content, this steel has excellent resistance to pitting, crevice and uniform corrosion. Duplex microstructure ensures high stress corrosion cracking resistance and mechanical strength. Typical duplex stainless steel microstructure.
Alloy 2507 is made up of 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum and 7% nickel. Its strength and corrosion resistance is strong, mainly used in chemical processing, petrochemical and submarine equipment. It has higher resistance to chloride corrosion, higher thermal conductivity and lower coefficient of thermal expansion. Higher chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content makes it have stronger resistance to chloride corrosion, higher thermal conductivity and lower coefficient of thermal expansion. High chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content makes it have high resistance to point corrosion, gap corrosion and uniform corrosion ability.
